The main purpose of our Society is to actively develop and support contacts between people and institutions from Czech Republic and Korea in every area of social life, mainly in the area of culture, education, sport, tourism, science and engineering, and economic and trade cooperation. Another goal is to support mutual exchange of information and knowledge between both regions.

Foundation
Czech-Korean Society (CKS) was founded in the 1990 as a civic organization with the aims of developing and supporting reciprocal contacts between Czech and Korean citizens and organizations, and help to improve mutual understanding in both regions in all areas of social life and in particular to deepen awareness about Korea in the Czech Republic.
Purpose

Around 100 members, mostly professors (of Korean studies, Oriental studies, etc.) and members of The Academy of Science (around 40), graduates of Korean Studies and students (around 30), others. Membership fees are 200,- CZK annually; for students and seniors 100,- CZK.
Budget
CKS is a non-profit organization which organizes its activities with support of its sponsors (various Korean companies) or grants (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korea Foundation, city of Prague).
